President
Gary Watts
Executive Director

Gary is a proud USAF veteran and former dog handler who dedicated 33 years to public service before retiring. His passion for working with animals continues through his involvement as an Apprentice in the Texas Master Beekeepers program, where he is actively pursuing his Advanced certification. A devoted husband and father, Gary enjoys the open road on his motorcycle, the rewarding challenge of training dogs, and the steadfast companionship of his service dog, Kona​

Todd is a Lubbock Native and a proud graduate of Texas Tech University. As a local pastor, his appreciation for the natural world is evident in his personal pursuits. He is an Advanced level Texas Master Beekeeper and actively contributes to the Texas master Beekeeper Program through his involvement in the Club Outreach, Education, and Content Committees.​

Vickie Watts

​Vickie graduated from Lubbock Christian University in 2003 with a degree in Social Work. She has built a successful 21-year career as an Associate Director at a prominent communications company. Alongside her professional life, Vickie is a dedicated beekeeper of six years and an Advanced level in the Texas Master Beekeepers Program, currently working towards her Advanced certification. Her passions also include raising chickens and quail, and the joy of baking delicious treats.

Nancy Norton

Nancy earned her BA from Indiana University and has dedicated over 25 years to her art. A keen observer of nature, she has also been a beekeeper for three years, currently holding the title of Apprentice Texas Master Beekeeper and working toward her Advanced certification. When she's not creating or tending to her hives, Nancy enjoys the simple pleasures of gardening and cooking.

Family-focused and passionate about nature conservation, James believes in saving our bees and loving the trees. He enjoys hobby farming, nature conservation, and of course, beekeeping. James has lived in Lynn County for 19 years and is a devoted father, husband and loves his furry baby dogs. He is also an old truck enthusiast.

​The CBA Certified* program ensures transparency, participation, and accountability through onsite inspections of apiaries in West Texas Caprock.

Developed in 2024, CBA Certified, aims to prevent mislabeling of honey sold as “West Texas Local” when sourced from far away.
