Lubbock Down Farmers Market
We are educating the public about the importance of the honey bee to agriculture and a bee's life cycle. We provide free educational materials from the National Honey Board in fun worksheets for kids and delicious honey recipes for all ages. We may use this time to sign up new “Beekeeping for Beginner” classes to encourage new beekeepers across the region.

Saturday Workshops7/15/2023 - The weather started with a welcomed rain to cool everything down. Equipment donated to CBA needed to be cleaned and repaired for future use. Everyone found something to do and we got a great assembly line scraping wax, cleaning frames and finally a good power wash.
Lunch time and Kase Donahue shared his grilling skills to cook some cheese burgers. The tiny "bought in a pinch" grill might have caught on fire but the burgers were perfection! The day ended with several new members getting their pick of the equipment to take home and add to their apiary. It was a great day hanging out with CBA! |

Educational Events and Guest SpeakersLocal groups often contact CBA requesting a local beekeeper to visit a classroom/event to talk about honeybees and pollinators.
We invite guest speakers including Master Beekeepers to visit CBA meetings and share their best practices. Photo: Kim Townsend, Master Beekeeper |
